We focussed on the challenges of electronic interference, jamming and spoofing in maritime operations. Our panel of speakers included Steve Vance from CGI UK, David Sanderson, the UK NPCC Lead for Disruptive Technologies and Steve Hancock, the principal scientist for GNSS in Ordnance Survey. In this scope of discussion, topics included:
  • How radio frequency disruptive technologies can be employed in the maritime space,
  • The methods of jamming and spoofing used by criminals,
  • The current interconnectedness our communication networks rely upon,
  • Ordnance Survery’s use of GNSS, and the threats GNSS faces,
  • How interference with GNSS is recognised and notified to key partners.’
